To be honest, I have no idea where to start. There were times when I wanted to rate this a 2 star for how much frustration it put me through, but I couldn't do that. I really enjoyed this, although I didn't like some of the actions.
This review will most likely be spoiler heavy (hidden, of course).
Let's start at the beginning, I guess. Tallis Carrington (Tally) is in a rough spot. He gets fired from his job, has an eviction notice on his apartment, and no money. He's not fond of being homeless nor prostitution so he heads back to Rock Bay. Why did the people of Rock Bay hate Tally for what his father did? I didn't understand, it's not like Tally had anything to do with that.
Nobody will give Tally the time of day and treats him like dirt although, I would have liked to see more of the community shun him like he thought they would. He had one lady at the shop and a couple of potential jobs turn him down. I wanted more, to prove he really was hated. But when he walks into a coffee shop that was hiring he gets spared and gets hired.
Lex decides to take a chance on Tally, even knowing who he is. Lex is a complete dick to him though and I LOVED it. Show him who's boss, Lex!! Tally is a quick learner though and gets the hang of it rather quickly. He also learns rather quickly that he is VERY attracted to his boss ;)
Lex says stuff here and there and it makes Tally think that he really does (or should) know this guy but he has no idea who he is. For the life of me, I can't understand how Lex is so forgiving.
Things progress and it was so nice to watch...until Tally's past comes back.
Tally is a complete coward and jackass! There, I said it. If you are in love with someone you don't let "friends" talk nasty about him/her. I wanted to go through my Kindle and strangle Tally and knock some sense into him. However, I thought that Lex should have told him what Brock said to him! I also though that if Lex knew that he was going to take Tally back why wait a week? Why be miserable? Just get it over with, forgive him! It was heartbreaking to watch, but I loved seeing Tally prove to him that he really did love him and wanted to be with him.
Loved Amy and Tally's grandma :)
Can't wait to read Drew's story next! Then Finding Shelter comes out on the 29th of April :)
